GRADUATE COLLEGE BIOINFORMATICS

Molecular bioinformatics comprises all questions of generating, analyzing and interpreting biological data, as well as utilization of such knowledge in biotechnology and medicine.
As biological data are generated on an industrial scale today, the use of computer-based methods is essential to any scientific or technical utilization of these data. The research topics of this Graduate Program in Bioinformatics range from comparative sequence analysis, analysis of gene expression, regulation and molecular interaction to the conputer-based supervision of biotechnical processes.

The graduate program "Bioinformatics" exists since October 1st, 2000. It is shared between the faculties of Mathematics , Biology and the Technische Fakultät.

Other graduate programs financed by Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.

The Graduate College Bioinformatics collaborates with the International NRW Graduate School in Bioinformatics and Genome Research.
