Research Interests:
 

Ph.D. Research: Phylogenomics of Vertebrate Serpins.Characterisation of vertebrate serpins and understanding its evolution. Serpins stand for SERine Protease INhibitors and it constitute a superfamily of proteins with diverse function.We are trying to draw phylogenetic history of vertebrate serpins and finding from where the  vertebrate serpins developed in present form.This work involve comparative genomics studies and characterization of serpin genes from different vertebrates.

  • Understanding the mechanism of intron insertion or gain in different genes or gene families.

  • Evolutionary Biology

  • Comparative Genomics.

  • Protein structure and function.

  • Membrane protein- expression structure, function and developing tools for delving into  membrane proteins.
