Bielefeld University Main Building
Bielefeld University consists of one huge building. There is a great hall housing several shops and restaurants and giving access to all lecture halls. The different parts of the building are labelled by letters:
WSOM 2007 is a single-track conference and all talks are held in lecture hall number 6 (H6) near the western end of the university (N-bridge). In the main hall, just in front of H6, poster walls are installed for poster presentations. You may leave your posters on display during the entire conference. The conference desk is also located just in front of H6. If you have any questions or requests, please don't hesitate to ask the staff at the conference desk. Opposite to the main entrance is a cloak room which will be opened from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm during the conference. The LibraryThe library covers almost the entire first floor of the university building. Books and journals of the Mathematics and Computational Sciences Department are located in part V1 accessible through the entrances on the M-bridge on the gallery of the main hall. All books can be read in the library with plenty of seats and tables available. Please return the books to the shelves afterwards. In order to loan books a special permit is required ("Bibilotheksausweis"). WLAN AccessWLAN access is available throughout the campus. The WLAN identifier (SSID) is "guest". A login page will occur after opening your web browser where you should enter the account data provided within your conference set. Afterwards, all internet protocols (especially http, imap, pop) should be available. SportsThe university is located at the border of the Teutoburg Forrest which offers several walking and hiking trails. |
