Yoko Ono exhibition in Bielefeld

Yesterday we visited the Yoko Ono exhibition in the Hall of Art in Bielefeld.

I have to admit that I didn't really know about Yoko Onos art, but I was really impressed. I like the way to merge different kinds of media, the use of media to create images and ideas in the observers mind, like seeing art and creating art using the mind. For instance, drawing pictures only by textual describing the steps of their creation. The pictures are completely drawn in the fantasy of the reader.

Another example is the blue room. From a distance, the room appears to be completely empty room with white walls. But there are very small (quite hard to see from a distance) describing notes of what should be seen in mind. I.e. one note demanded the visitor to imagine a window larger than life (too big to be build in reality). The blue sky can be seen through the window.

Of course if you open your mind to the power of the images, easily created in your mind is quite impressive. Even the simple concept is simply ingenious to me.

We really liked it!
