GOSMACS /goz'maks/ n. [contraction of `Gosling EMACS']
The first {EMACS}-in-C implementation, predating but now
largely eclipsed by {GNUMACS}. Originally freeware; a
commercial version is now modestly popular as `UniPress EMACS'.
The author (James Gosling) went on to invent {NeWS}.
