Educational and Professional Experiences

I received my diploma in mathematics from Bielefeld University in July 2012. During the work on my diploma thesis 'Single-crossover recombination and ancestral recombinationtrees in continuous time' I started my research in population genetics, especially in recombination dynamics.
Right now, I am a PhD student in the group of Ellen Baake within the priority program Probabilistic Structures in Evolution (project: Recombination processes and ancestral recombination trees). Since February 2012 I am also responsible for the administrative work of our group.

Current Interests

For my PhD I work on problems in mathematical population genetics, especially on models to describe the development of gene frequencies under the evolutionary force of recombination.
