Marc heads the AI & VR Lab of the AI group at the Bielefeld University. He studied mathematics and computer sciences at the University of Paderborn, the New York Institute of Technology and the Bielefeld University. After several accompanying years in the computer business, he received his PhD in 2001 in the area of multimodal –gesture and speech– interaction for Virtual Reality. Marc's research focuses on Intelligent Virtual Environments (IVEs). Specifically aimed at novel human-computer interaction methods, he is interdisciplinary devoted to Artificial Intelligence, real-time 3D computer graphics and simulation, language and gesture processing and Cognitive Sciences.
