Current and previous research topics

In the ongoing project and its predecessors, we keep exploring and evaluating the domain of conversational spoken interaction in a real-world assistive setting. Our systems are engineered to be accessible by everyone, including elderly people and people with various cognitive impairments in the design process. Our particular interest is in harnessing the features of an incremental, conversational approach to avoid and repair communication problems, bolstered by the employment of a multimodal information presentation system personified by a virtual humanoid agent.
We closely cooperate with our corporate partner, health and social care provider v. Bodelschwinghsche Stiftungen Bethel.
